It’s a pleasure to introduce ; a new bi-annual magazine and platform for investigating ideas in counter-cultures. to Be magazine is a space for international fashion, music and arts communities to connect and delve deeply into what it means to Be, and to become. Our goal is to spotlight creative milestones across underground and emerging fashion, music and art cultures, honing in on how creativity comes into being.

This issue features a curated lineup of multidisciplinary artists who, in discussion with to Be, unpack the monumental forces driving their creative pursuits. Throughout this series of in-depth interviews and thought pieces, we are guided through the moments, influences and experiences that have shaped each artist.

Fronting our SS21 issue is Amy Taylor, Australia’s emerging punk icon. Alongside Amy, we also hear from musician Jonnine Standish of HTRK, sound artist Lawrence English and Australian actor Sean Keenan, as well as a number of incredible creatives who are shaping scenes across Australia and abroad.

The people who are the bones of this magazine embody resilience, drive, optimism and attitude – including all of those behind the images and words, and the icons past and present that inspire us – thank you for the huge part you’ve each played in to Be

Annabel Blue.

SEE ISSUE #06 HERE. The theme for this issue, Revelations, delves into the unfiltered aspects of life. It’s an appreciation and exploration of raw beauty, where authenticity reigns supreme; the unconventional is not just accepted but celebrated. In a world of manufactured perfection, this issue chooses to validate our quirks and idiosyncrasies. After all, they are what make us inimitable.
